Πέραν τούτου, έχει μετεκπαιδευτεί, επί σειρά ετών (clinical fellowships), στον τομέα της αρθροσκοπικής χειρουργικής και της αντιμετώπισης αθλητικών κακώσεων, σε διεθνή ακαδημαϊκά κέντρα του υψηλότερου επιπέδου (ESSKA teaching centers), όπως η Clinica Ars Medica (Λουγκάνο, Ελβετία), και η ATOS Klinik (Χαϊδελβέργη, Γερμανία). Ο Επ. Καθηγητής Ορθοπαιδικής, κος Μαλαχιάς, είναι αναγνωρισμένος σε διεθνή συνέδρια για την ακαδημαϊκή κλινική έρευνά του και έχει συμμετάσχει σε άνω των 110 επιστημονικών ερευνών, δημοσιευμένων σε έγκριτα διεθνή περιοδικά (του Pubmed).
