Σε αυτό το ταξίδι, τους ενδυναμώνει να οικοδομήσουν νέες Ορθολογικές Πεποιθήσεις (ΟΠ),  οι οποίες είναι περισσότερο βοηθητικές, ρεαλιστικές, ευέλικτες και συνεπής με την πραγματικότητα. Με αυτό το τρόπο, οι Ορθολογικές Πεποιθήσεις προάγουν τη λειτουργικότητα και την ψυχική ισορροπία του ατόμου. Στόχος της ειδικού είναι να βοηθά κάθε άτομο να κατανοήσει πως όταν αναλαμβάνουμε τη συναισθηματική ευθύνη της ύπαρξής μας με τρόπο συμβατό με τη βαθύτερη φιλοσοφία του ίδιου μας του εαυτού, τότε καταφέρνουμε αφενός να απολαμβάνουμε περισσότερο την ζωή μας και αφετέρου να βιώνουμε πιο λειτουργικά συναισθήματα. Ακόμα και αν αυτά πρόκειται να είναι αρνητικά. Η ανάληψη ευθύνης ότι τα συναισθήματα και οι αντιδράσεις μας δεν οφείλονται μόνο σε εξωτερικά γεγονότα αλλά κυρίως στις εσωτερικές μας πεποιθήσεις, νοοτροπίες και στάσεις, μας βοηθάει να κατανοήσουμε/διαχειριστούμε με μεγαλύτερη ορθότητα τα συναισθήματά μας. Επομένως, κάθε άτομο έχει τις δικές του αξίες, στόχους και πεποιθήσεις, οι  οποίες διαμορφώνουν έναν προσωπικό «κώδικα» ζωής για τον εαυτό, τους άλλους και τη ζωή. Η αλλαγή λοιπόν που επιτυγχάνουμε στη θεραπεία είναι προσαρμοσμένη στη διαδικασία που ταιριάζει με αυτόν τον «κώδικα». Το άτομο, δηλαδή, κάνει αλλαγές που δεν του είναι ξένες, αλλά συμβατές με τον πυρήνα του. Η RECBT επομένως, καθώς και η βιωματική - Ορθολογική Ψυχοθεραπεία, δεν είναι μόνο ένα θεραπευτικό εργαλείο, αλλά μια φιλοσοφία ζωής. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, το φιλοσοφικό μοντέλο που εφαρμόζει δεν στοχεύει απλώς στο «να νιώθουμε καλύτερα», αλλά στο να αλλάξουμε τη δομή της σκέψης μας, ώστε να «σκεφτόμαστε καλύτερα».

Ioannis Papadimas is a licensed psychologist, holding a degree in Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a full member of the Hellenic Psychological Society (SEPS) since 2020. He has specialized in Psychoanalytic–Psychodynamic Psychotherapy through his training at the European Institute of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and he has also completed postgraduate training in Psychoeducation and Behavioral Family Therapy.His professional background includes collaborations with well-established mental health and social care organizations.
