Ο Ιωάννης Κ. Ράπτης είναι Μαιευτήρας - Χειρουργός Γυναικολόγος με εξειδίκευση στις κυήσεις υψηλού κινδύνου, την ενδοσκοπική χειρουργική και την υποβοηθούμενη αναπαραγωγή. Αποφοίτησε μετά από 6ετή φοίτηση από την ιατρική σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με βαθμό “λίαν καλώς” και μετέβη στη Γερμανία, όπου ειδικεύτηκε στη μαιευτική και γυναικολογία. Υπήρξε ένας από τους πρώτους λαπαροσκόπους παγκοσμίως που πραγματοποίησαν λαπαροσκοπική θεραπεία της πρόπτωσης μήτρας με χρήση των συνδέσμων Cooper (Λαπαροσκοπική Κτενοπηξία – Laparoscopic Pectopexy – Laparoskopische Pektopexie) καθώς και λαπαροσκοπική θεραπεία της κυστεοκήλης χωρίς την χρήση πλέγματος (Laparoskopische vordere Plastik) με εξαιρετικά αποτελέσματα. Τον Νοέμβριο του 2017 πραγματοποίησε την πρώτη επέμβαση Λαπαροσκοπικής Κτενοπηξίας στην Ελλάδα και εισήγαγε τον αντίστοιχο ελληνικό ιατρικό όρο.
