Με το συγγραφικό και το διδακτικό του έργο στο Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, στα διεθνή και τα ντόπια συνέδρια, τις ημερίδες και τα σεμινάρια, όρισε και καθόρισε τη θέση της Κλινικής Στοματολογίας στην σύγχρονη εποχή. Ο διεθνούς φήμης καθηγητής - ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Northeastern (ΗΠΑ) Νίκος Σούκος έγραψε: «Το έργο του έπαιξε θεμελιακό ρόλο στη δημιουργία της Ελληνικής Σχολής Σκέψης στη Στοματολογία με ακτινοβολούσα θέση στο παγκόσμιο ιατρικό στερέωμα». Πιο συγκεκριμένα, έχει εκδώσει 11 ελληνικά βιβλία και 6 στα αγγλικά, που έχουν μεταφραστεί σε 12 ακόμη γλώσσες. Τα βιβλία του διδάσκονται στα περισσότερα Πανεπιστήμια του κόσμου (Ευρώπη, Ασία, Αμερική).
