Thomopoulou Stauroula is a Neurologist and maintains a private practice in Ilion. Simultaneously, she serves as a Scientific Collaborator at the Peristeri Medical Center. She studied Medicine at the University of Crete and, upon completion of her studies, fulfilled her rural service as a General Practitioner at the Health Center of Sitia. Subsequently, she specialized in Neurology at a hospital in Western Germany and at the General Hospital of Dortmund, an Academic Hospital affiliated with the University Hospital of Münster. Beyond her basic training, particular emphasis was placed on electrophysiological assessment (electromyography, nerve conduction studies) of patients, as well as the care of patients post-stroke (monitoring in the stroke unit, diagnostic evaluation, carotid ultrasound). After completing her training, including the required one year of psychiatry, she obtained the Neurology specialty title in April 2014. Subsequently, she worked as a Specialist Neurologist for one and a half years in a clinic in Western Germany (Unna) with a recognized Epilepsy Center, where she had the opportunity to gain experience in this field by acquiring the specialized EEG knowledge certificate. She then worked in the private sector in the Bochum and Düsseldorf areas. This experience led her to decide to continue training in a hospital in Western Germany (Hagen) in the field of Psychiatry. Beyond specializing in clinical cases (depression, anxiety disorders, psychotic syndromes, psychosomatic symptoms), she simultaneously completed a two-year training program in psychotherapy, specifically focusing on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Upon completion of her training, she obtained the Psychiatry specialty title. Finally, she specializes in Dementia - Alzheimer’s Disease, Epilepsy, and Electromyography.
