Karpathakis Nikolaos is a Urologist - Andrologist with a private practice in Heraklion, Crete. He holds a degree from the Medical School of the University of Crete and specialized in General Surgery at the Department of General Surgery of the General Hospital of Rethymno. Additionally, he began his specialization in Urology at the Urology Clinic of Venizeleio General Hospital of Heraklion and subsequently at the University Hospital of Heraklion. In 2014, he started working at Hull and East Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the United Kingdom as a registrar, where he received training in laparoscopic urology. Simultaneously, at the same center, he gained extensive experience in andrology and infertility. In 2016, he returned to Greece and worked as an assistant consultant in the urology clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion, while the same year he returned to the United Kingdom and began working as a consultant at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. During his tenure in this position, he mainly worked in the field of laparoscopic urology as well as in lithiasis management. Concurrently, he received training in performing transrectal and transperineal prostate biopsies, as well as in the management of female urinary incontinence, and was certified in intravesical botulinum toxin injection for the treatment of overactive bladder. Since September 2017, he maintains a private practice in Heraklion, Crete, while continuing to occasionally provide his services in the United Kingdom. Finally, the physician is a member of the Hellenic Urological Association, the European Association of Urology (EAU), the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), holds the title of Fellow of the European Board of Urology, has participated in international, European, and national conferences, and has publications in scientific journals.
