Επιπλέον, είναι υποψήφιος Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Θέμα της διατριβής αποτελεί η "Ταυτοποίηση και συγκριτική μελέτη του μικροβιώματος των ούρων με τον ουροθηλιακό καρκίνο της ουροδόχου κύστης".

Urologist - Andrologist Georgios Athanasopoulos was born in Athens and graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a grade of "Very Good".
