H HDL χοληστερόλη είναι οριακά χαμηλή για γυναίκα και σχετίζεται ανάλογα με καρδιαγγειακό κίνδυνο.Σημαντικό ρόλο παίζει το οικογενειακό ιστορικό υψηλής χοληστερόλης,το κάπνισμα ,εάν είστε ήδη σε αγωγή,εάν συνυπάρχει σακχαρώδης διαβήτης.Για καλύτερη εκτίμηση πρεπει να υπάρχει πλήρης έλεγχος υπερλιπιδαιμίας(tg/chol/lpa κτλ).
