Εξαρτάται από το μέγεθος του κυρίως αν μπορεί να αφαιρεθεί ενδοσκοπικά (κολονοσκόπηση) ή αν χρειάζεται να αφαιρεθεί με χειρουργική επέμβαση (λαπαροσκοπικά ή ρομποτικά με δεξιά κολεκτομή)

Η θέση του έχει έναν αυξημένο βαθμό δυσκολίας όμως από μόνο του αυτό δεν είναι απαγορευτικό. Εξαρτάται από τη διάσταση του και το σχήμα του οπότε κάθε περίπτωση εκτιμάται εξατομικευμένα.
