το σύνδρομο peutz jeghers ειναι κληρονομικό και σχετίζεται με γονιδιο που κληρονομεί καποιος απο τον πατέρα ή την μητέρα σε ποσοστό 50%, αν το εχει καποιος απο τους δυο.. δεν υπάρχει προς το παρών θεραπεία αλλά χρειάζεται επίβλεψη του γαστρεντερικού, λόγω πολυποδίασης, και καρκίνο του παχ'εος εν'τερου, του μαστού, και άλλες νεοπλασίες. Καλό είναι να σας παρακολουθεί γαστρεντερολόγος, και ίσως ογκολόγος
