Η λήψη του σκευάσματος prolia σε περιπτώσεις ασθενών με οστεοπενία ή οστεοπόρωση, οι οποίοι τη λαμβάνουν ανά 6μηνο συνιστάται να διακοπεί περιεγχειρητικά. Συγκεκριμένα, η όποια επέμβαση γίνεται μετά τους 5 με 6 μήνες από τη λήψη, ενώ στη συνέχεια συνιστάται η καθυστέρηση της επόμενης δόσης για τουλάχιστον 2 μήνες, εάν είναι εφικτό.
Όσον αφορά παλαιότερα εμφυτεύματα, συνιστάται άριστη στοματική υγιεινή και ο συχνός έλεγχός του από ειδικό, για την αποφυγή περιεμφυτευματίτιδας.
