How to safely reduce and stop Quetiapine 100mg for sleep with Parkinson's on Madopar and Xadago?

I have Parkinson's and take the standard dose of Madopar 200/50 and Xadago 100 (once daily). For the last 2 weeks I took Quetiapine 100 to sleep. However, I know that I have to get rid of the Quetiapine, what are the ways to reduce it/ stop it?

  • Quetiapine 100mg, is indeed a low dose. Please consult your doctor. It can be easily reduced and discontinued, either by reducing the dose by 25, or by 50mg. There are various medications that can be used used for sleep, and in your case, not necessarily antidopaminergic ones, such as Quetiapine.
