I’ve had a constant whooshing sound in one ear for about 2 weeks now following a cold. I also feel ear fullness, pressure changes, and occasional popping, but no hearing loss. What could be causing this, and what is usually done in cases like this? Thank you
You probably have fluid in your ear, which is not uncommon after a cold. Watchful waiting and an effort to pop your ears (chewing sugarless gum for example) usually does the trick. If symptoms persist after four weeks, you should consult an ENT doctor.

Good morning. Based on your description I am inclined to believe that you are dealing with a case of serous otitis media. It is a condition that includes fluid accumulation in the inner side of your tympanic membrane as a sequelae of your recent cold. Nevertheless, in order to establish this specific diagnosis , full examination along with otoscope and tympanogram are required. Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.
