Υπάρχει κίνδυνος σοκ μετά από επέμβαση αυχενικής μυελοπάθειας;
Ο πατέρας μου διαγνώστηκε με αυχενική μυελοπάθεια. Ο νευροχειρουργός που τον εξέτασε μας είπε πως είναι μονόδρομος η επέμβαση γιατί ένας σπόνδυλος έχει βγει από τη θέση του και κόβει αρκετά τη ροή στον μυελό. Ο ίδιος όμως μας προειδοποίησε ότι μετά την επέμβαση μπορεί ο οργανισμός να πάθει σοκ, αφού έχει μάθει να λειτουργεί για χρόνια υπό αυτές τις συνθήκες και τα αποτελέσματα της επέμβασης να είναι αρνητικά. Υπάρχει τέτοια περίπτωση; Αφού θα αποσυμφορηθεί η πίεση από τον σπόνδυλο δε θα έπρεπε να καλυτερέψει η κατάσταση;
