Πώς να αντιμετωπίσετε το πυκνό φλέγμα σε ηλικιωμένη με δυσκολία κατάποσης;
Γειά σας, η μητέρα μου είναι 90 ετών και αρκετές φορές πνίγεται όταν καταπίνει. Το φαγητό -μερικές φορές ακόμη και το νερό- δεν μπορεί να περάσει στον οισοφάγο μάλλον, γιατί επιστρέφει βίαια, και φαίνεται ότι υπάρχει πολύ πυκνό διάφανο φλέγμα που με μεγάλη προσπάθεια το απομακρύνει βήχοντας δυνατά. Υπάρχει κάτι να λύνει το φλέγμα για να μπορέσει να καταπίνει εύκολα; Ευχαριστώ

Είτε λόγω ηλικίας δυσλειτουργεί ο καταποτικός μηχανισμός (εκφύλιση του νευρικού συστήματος) είτε υπάρχει κάποιο πρόβλημα στην πορεία του φαγητού (εκκόλπωμα, στένωση ή κάτι άλλο). Πρέπει να ξεκινήσετε έλεγχο, γιατί το επόμενο στάδιο θα είναι να κάνει εισρόφηση και είτε να πνιγεί είτε να κάνει πνευμονία.
