Το οστικό οίδημα είναι ένας τραυματισμός στο οστό (σαν «μώλωπας» μέσα στο κόκκαλο), που χρειάζεται χρόνο και υπομονή για να επουλωθεί – συνήθως 3-6 μήνες, μερικές φορές και παραπάνω, ειδικά αν είναι σε φορτιζόμενο σημείο όπως κάτω από το γόνατο. Χρειάζεται επανεκτιμηση απο ορθοπαιδικό και πιθανότατα νεα μαγνητική τομογραφία ώστε να γίνει συγκριτικός έλεγχος.
