Η 10χρονη κόρη μου έχει συχνά στρεπτόκοκκο και κολπικά υγρά. Να βγάλει αμυγδαλές;
Η κόρη μου 10 ετών παθαίνει συνέχεια στρεπτόκοκκους. Αν έβγαζε τις αμυγδαλές θα ησύχαζε; Επίσης έχει και κολπικά υγρά και μας έχουν πει ότι επειδή είναι φορέας του στρεπτόκοκκου στο λαιμό έχει τα κολπικά...

Ναι, πιθανότατα θα ησύχαζε (για να σας το πω σίγουρα πρέπει να πάρω αναλυτικό ιστορικό και να την εξετάσω). Ευχαρίστως να την εξετάσω και να τα πούμε αναλυτικά από κοντά, ως ειδικός μάλιστα στην επέμβαση αυτή γενικότερα αλλά και με μεγάλη εμπειρία στην διενέργεια της σε παιδιά ειδικότερα

Η αμυγδαλεκτομή μπορεί να βοηθήσει σε παιδιά που εμφανίζουν πολύ συχνές στρεπτοκοκκικές αμυγδαλίτιδες μέσα στη χρονιά, αλλά η απόφαση λαμβάνεται πάντα με βάση συγκεκριμένα κριτήρια (π.χ. πόσα επεισόδια έχει το παιδί, πόσο σοβαρά ήταν και πώς επηρεάζουν την καθημερινότητά του). Δεν αρκεί μόνο η φορεία του στρεπτόκοκκου για να συστήσουμε χειρουργείο.
Όσο για τα κολπικά υγρά, δεν είναι τυπικά αποτέλεσμα της στρεπτοκοκκικής φορείας στον λαιμό· μπορεί να οφείλονται σε άλλες αιτίες (π.χ. μη ειδική κολπίτιδα, ερεθισμός, ή ακόμα και σταδιακή ωρίμανση για είσοδο στην εφηβεία).
