Βασικές ενδείξεις για μελέτη ύπνου είναι υπνική άπνοια και ναρκοληψία . Για επιληψία δεν υπάρχει ένδειξη . Ωστόσο σε ειδικές περιπτώσεις επιληψίας χρησιμοποιούμε την 24 ώρα καταγραφή εγκεφαλογραφηματος
